No Chill Sparring...

Pathfinder Shenanigans

Okay, so Saturday and Sunday we came back home from vacation, and during that time I finally took the time out to print off me and my siblings character sheets.


We broke out some dice, some face cards, and a whole lot of improv and started playing.


Saturday we ended up doing some sparring in the middle of town. I was GM, so I had all of our characters in the middle of a bustling marketplace.


In our party we have:


Jordan:The Strix Bloodrager, Nival. A family man, with a Vanaran Druid Wife, and two adopted elf children.


Jared Aaron:The Suli Fighter, Yrois The Gladiator. An unarmed gladiator fighter that has the ability to shroud parts of his body in fire, electricity, acid, or ice.


Savannah: The Half-Elf Bard, Acroin. A travelling singer and guitarist with the ability to talk to animals.


Me: The Kitsune Rogue, Amas Iso. A courier/messenger who not only specializes in parkour, but gunslinging as well.


None of these characters knows each other, and this is the first time that they will meet, and have their lives be changed forever…






We all bump into each other in the middle of a huge crowd. The first thing that Amas checks for is where his money was being kept. He can’t find his money pouch, so the first thing Amas decides to do is ask the first person that he sees that bumped into him. That person would have to be Nival. This huge and very intimidating Strix looks as if he’s about to walk away. Amas grabs his shoulder and asks him to give him his money back. Because Amas doesn’t speak Strix, all he can hear is shrieks and screams of Nival asking him to kindly back off.


While that is going on, Yrois bumps into Acroin, who’s guitar she was previously holding had dropped to the ground. She doesn’t choose to catch it, so it falls and two strings break. Yrois just stands there apathetically as he stares at the guitar on the ground. Acroin surprisingly doesn’t get mad, seeing as though she has enough money to not care about repairing two strings.


Unfortunately for her, Nival hears the loud Twang sound of the strings breaking and it hurts his ears. Acroin was just about to pick it up when Nival pushes Amas down, and goes over to the guitar and begins to stomp on it. What was originally a 35 gp repair now just became an 80 gp repair.


“What in the world are you doing!?!” She screams in Strix to Nival.


Yrois apparently decided to join in the fun by going up behind Acroin, reaching around her and slamming his body on the broken guitar.


This gave Acroin an attack of opportunity, and instead of attacking him with her weapons, she decides to try to elbow Yrois as he tries to move past her. She critically fails the roll and ends up spinning around and stepping on her own guitar.


After Yrois slammed into the guitar, this thing is pretty much flattened. By this point, I personally would have just given up and bought a new guitar, but Acroin still planned on getting it repaired.


Amas decides to try and help Acroin by shooting Nival in the leg to make him stop, but I critically fail and end up ricocheting the bullet off of the guitar into Acroin’s leg.


But then, Nival decides to get into a Blood Rage and begins smashing the broken guitar into dust.






Yep. Sparring matches are always the best.
